MONGOLIA

The series captures my extended stay within a community of Mongolian nomads who opened the doors of their yurts to me. At first, I was perceived as just another white, blond, tall, English-speaking European arriving to “exploit” their culture. Yet, as time passed, trust grew, and I was gradually invited into the intimate rhythms of their daily lives. What began as an outsider’s perspective transformed into a deeper understanding, shaped by the most ordinary yet profound aspects of nomadic existence.

Through documenting both the community and Mongolia’s vast landscapes, I discovered a new sensitivity to silence, the raw beauty of nature, and even to food I never imagined tasting. This body of work reflects not only the resilience and traditions of the nomads but also the quiet transformation of my own perceptions while living among them.
